Jacobo Licona
CEO & Founder
Jacobo is the CEO and founder of JL Research. He is an experienced political strategist with expertise in research, communications, rapid response and message development.
Prior to launching JL Research, Jacobo helped lead research efforts for two 2020 presidential campaigns and a major Democratic super PAC.
In the 2016 and 2018 election cycles, he worked at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC). During the historic 2018 cycle, he helped take back the House as the Midwest Research Director. In the 2016 cycle, Jacobo worked as a Research Analyst in the DCCC’s independent expenditure. He’s also provided research and communications support for progressive and Latinx organizations.
Jacobo is a leading voice on the impact of disinformation on the Latino community and has been quoted by or appeared in numerous media outlets, including The New York Times, CNN, Politico, MIT Technology Review, and Los Angeles Times, among others. Jacobo is a first-generation American who grew up in El Paso, TX and is now living in Austin. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin.
